Rainbow Cookies – Day 7 of National Craft Month March 2012

With St Patrick’s Day right around the corner and The Lorax out in movie theaters, Fragile Earth Stuffed Animals has rainbows on the brain (Did you see the rainbow we made out of ribbons for our window display?).   These cookies are relatively easy to make and your kids will really enjoy helping.  The end result is very Seussian.

Step One – Make your favorite sugar cookie dough and divide equally into five bowls.  Add food coloring of your choice to each bowl.

Step 2 – Roll grape size balls of each color.

Step 3 – Combine your five balls into one colorful beach ball.

Step 4 – Roll your ball between your hand and the counter until you have a cylinder approximately 12″ long.  Starting from one end, roll you cylinder into a spiral.

Step 5 – Roll your edges in your choice of rainbow sprinkles.

Step 6 – Bake as directed per your recipe and within ten minutes you have pretty rainbow cookies to eat!
