Paper Blossoms – Day 15 National Craft Month March 2012

It has been 70º all week, so it’s no wonder we have Spring on the brain here at Fragile Earth Stuffed Animals.  It’s so nice to be at the store with the door open for all the lovely fresh air to clean Winter out of the store.

Today, we are taking a craft from The Usborne First Book of Art.  In honor of the Spring air, we are going to  make Paper Blossoms.

Materials needed are simple:  Tissue paper, blunt needle, yarn and scissors.

Step 1 – Lay two pieces of tissue paper together.

Step 2 – Fold them in half, and then in half again.

Step 3 – Draw a petal in the corner.

Step 4 – Cut out and unfold.

Step 5 – Use a blunt needle to thread the flower onto the yarn.  Tie a knot under the flower to keep it in place.

Step 6 – Thread on more flowers for your desired length of blossoms.

This is a quick and easy craft that yields a pretty and delicate paper flower chain.
