Ever see something on Pinterest and think “I can do that”? We here at Fragile Earth Stuffed Animals do it all the time and, then, when we try the projects, they come out looking like a 5 year old on meth made them. However, we have fun trying different things and obviously have no problem sharing our work, as amateur as it might be.
So, with that ringing endorsement, let’s make flower cookies, shall we? I found these on the Better Homes & Garden Pinterest page.
Start with your favorite sugar cookie recipe. Roll the dough into approximately 1″ balls.
In separate bowls, pour different colored decorator’s sugar.
Roll your dough balls in the sugar and put on a non-greased cookie sheet.
Cut each ball in half (I used a sharp paring knife)
and then cut each half into three pieces. (Don’t worry if the pieces separate – just keep them close and they will melt into one another while cooking)
Put a small piece of candy in the middle of each “flower”. I used jellybeans, which turned out surprisingly well.
Bake them in a 300 oven for about 14 minutes. They may not look finished but they really are.
These taste so much better than they look!
