Sail Away by Donald Crews

A perfect day for sailing.

We row the dinghy out to our sailboat.

Everything ready, we motor from our mooring.  putt …. putt …. putt ….

This is a great read aloud book because there are noises the kids can make with you as your read the book. I just used this at our story time with a 2 year old and an 8 month old. Both of them were getting into making sounds – the two year old putting along with me and the baby giggling at us. And just wait until the wind picks up:)

There are tons of crafts to make with sailboats and wind:

Use empty boxes to make a sailboat,

Make boats out of deviled eggs like we did a few weeks ago,

Or be a wind detective and see which way the breeze is blowing with windsocks
